how much weight can the stock drivetrain handle?? i'd like to add a bunch but dont want to stress anything out to bad.. i star cut the front foams and narrowed the rears and it helped alot, but i feel like a little more (sprung) weight would help dramaticly.. by the way i'm running a rooster crawler and 55t hand wound.. thanks guys |

The best place to add weight is in the wheels and on the axles. The lower the better and also keep a forward bias.

Adding some stick on lead weights to the inside of your wheels will help. You could also try switching to the Kreepy foams, they'll add weight to your wheels and let your tires flex better too.

I hear that putting airsoft bb's in your tires instead of foams helps alot, And conforms to the rocks well. Anywere from 3.3 to 4 ounces in each tire is what i see people using.

I put a mixture of airsoft and metal bb's and my front tires & rims weight around 12oz and the back around 9oz. I have a video were towards the end you can see how much the tire can flex but it doesn not always do it. sorry about the quality of the video. Last edited by quads4_life; 09-03-2007 at 09:26 PM. |

the steering is slower but I will get a faster higher torque servo. and the noise from the bb's rattleing around in the tires but it did keep the nose out of the air as much.
