Question Axle and tranny strength

How does the axle and tranny strength of the axial compare to WK or other similar rigs. For instance weights on wheels, on axles, drive gear, etc.
Wanna add more weight but I don't wanna break anything

How tough are these things??

You know mine is doing well. I have a full 6 Sub C's on the front axle with no problems. Lots fo scars, but no damage at all, though mind you I tend not to try to get out of everything when things look grim.

I have 1/2 spun 1 wheel so far due to a stupid move, it was fun at the time, but looks to be a quick ruined wheel.

Ive been running mambamax/crawlmaster on 8 cells pretty hard, and I havent been able to break anything yet.

If anything, the driveshafts pop out every once in a while when given throttle in a bind

i run a rooster crawler and 55t

6oz stick wieght in each front and 4oz in each rear..

imo, plenty of wieght and ridiculous traction with no signs of negative activity at all..

never bogs and always climbs.. (could easily handle more)

also star cut and narrowed the front foams and just narrowed the rears..
holes drilled in all rims for air..

works great for me..

My WK stripped the rear diff after a week of torture. The Axial I've got has been through hell and lived so far. The only real issue i've had is the driveshafts popping off, but cured that with driveline angle and zipties.

Im running 12oz of derby stick on weights in each front with another 4oz of airsoft BBs in each one with V-cut and narrowed foams. So with the weight of the tire, wheel, and beadlocks my front tires weigh in at over a pound each. I tend to drive my rig pretty hard and sometimes stupid, but have yet to cause any driveline failures other than the shaft popping off which Ive stopped with an easy fix. These things will hold stupid driveline weight if you ask me...

So who's going to be the first to throw on some 40 series wheels and tires and see how they hold out

Plastic is often underappreciated in favour of the bling of aluminum, but it really does have great properties such as its flexibility and strength to weight ratio. I think this is what helps make these axles even tougher.

hey ElChupacabra could you please show me a picture or two of what your truck looks like with all this weight u have added. Does the wheel look like a balloon. I ask this because im having a hard time picturing 12oz of stick on weight + foam + 4oz of air soft plastic bb's all crammed into the wheel. i have 3.5 oz in each wheel b/c thats how much would go around once. one layer fills the space between the beeds.

AX tranny working Flawless in my Big Super, I broke a max axle shaft and a Aluminum half driveshaft with my Mamba max with 60% brake and BM16 brushless on 8 Cells
Yea I'd say it's a Strong Tranny

35t holmes hobbies motor + 11.1v + Dirty Harry's with 3, 4 or six slugs = destroyed ring gears, shafts, cvd pins, cvd's, tranny output shafts, tranny idler gear.

Solution, HD front and rear gears, MIP shafts, super 300's, vp outputs (come with dig), and steel tranny gears = bullet proof drivetrain with a plastic spur as a fail point. Hurting on the wallet though.

Then you start ripping the shock\link mounts off of the axle housings to push through those binds

1 set of Super 300's is a lot cheaper than 3 or 4 sets of regular CVD's and a bonusline locker. And you can turn sharper

X2 . I broke them all, mip-3racing-axial-stock dogbones. 300's are the only way to fly
