| battery setup suggestion http://www.maxamps.com/Lipo-4400-74-Saddle.htm I just saw this lipo battery pack, and was wondering if anyone has used it. I'm thinking it would be a good setup to have strapped over the front axles. Don’t know how it would hold up against water or mud. The run time would be amazing and the overall weight would be significantly less. Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks |

I have a crap 3300 pack I reconfigured and I get 2.5 hours run time... Why not get something smaller? Even myself I plan to look to another smaller source. |

probably right, its just that im building up a tube chassis for my ax10 and dont know if i should try to mount a pack out of the way or just build a pack to mount on the axles. im currently useing a 4800mah Orion LiPo pack from my touring cars, untill ive descided on a permanent solution for a battery pack.

I use a cheapo Integy 1500mAh lipohttp://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLFV9&P=0, and I get about an hour run time. This is the smallest battery I've ever used, might be a good thing to stuff in a tuber.

My sons AX-10 is set up with 8 1500 2/3a cells on the front axle. They are cheapie cells as well. He can get about 45 minutes out of that. If they were good cells, that'd probably bump up a good bit.

The lipo saddle pack you linked to is too big for your front axle. I would suggest either a smaller 2100 lipo or a pack of nimh made like this: http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...0&cat=0&page=1 |

Elite 1500's are tiny, I ran a 8 cell on the front axle and had room for 2 more.(AX10) I get close to an hour run time too.

the info from all you guys was awsome my final thought on this would most likely be 2 3cell packs on the axles, im gona end up making a new tranny plate, make it a bit wider, to get the drive shafts abit closer to the center of the chassis , and stuff the electronics on the side of the trans, opposite to motor. best way to lower COG in my opinion. gona be sealing all my electronics as water tight as possible (internaly to save on space and keep it clean lookin). im not gona go swimming with the RC but would like to make a splash once in a while. im still a noobie at crawling, but im hopeing i can take my 1/10 scale touring knowledge and input from you guys to make an awsome looking yet well capable crawler thank you |

2 3 or 4 cell 2/3a packs on the front axle works VERY well IMHO. Making the belly pan wider,is a bad idea IMHO. Just more to hang up on. If anything,I'd make it skinnier | |

If you know how to make your own pack, I found the best way for mone was too get 1/18th scale battery cells and make your own. Those lil things fit anywhere and a 1400 set up can give you about and hour run time if there charged right. The you can wrap them around the front axle, it will shift more to the front!
