Default Custom chassis No2

Had this drawn up on SolidWorks for a while, and finally got round to fab up one side this morning using 3mm 6082 T6, (still requires finishing). Have some plans for the link set-up?!

The idea was to stand the shocks up a little and make the upper and lower links parallel, and of equal length. It will be alot narrower than the stock chassis, and will use a Delrin skid. Probably use new Axial trans and axles. What do you guys think?

I like it, higher shock mounts will drop your ride height. I also heard that longer upper links improve handling, you adressed that also, NICE WORK! Looking forward to a report on the drivability

Longer upper links won't improve handling. They will however keep your pinion out of the dirt on full droop.

The lower link area will be radiused, and the links and skid will stop that.

if too long it will still catch sometime... maybe that is just me.. But then that changes based on your clearance to begin with..

They're just 1/8th buggy shocks with blue countersunk washers. The hex nut reflections look like that don't they?

Yes it will, it will help to prevent a certain amount of axle swing in addition to improving pinion angles throughout the range of motion. That's a pretty considerable improvement.

Just remember to keep the links you plan on triangulating as parallel to the ground as possible.

That chassis should work great.

I took the design idea from a buggy front shock tower, and went from there.

Thanks for the good comments guys. Don't think it would be cost effective. Probably spent about 5 hours on it allready....as the g/f keeps reminding me, lol.
