Default new drivw shafts

so i pooped a yoke last night. tranny side just like everyone else has. i'am getting ready to head over to the lhs to look for new ones. i have seen the punisher shafts i like the idea of steel. i come from a 1:1 back ground. i know when i put ton shafts on my buddies tj he started to break axles. i dont want other weak links to start going if i upgrade. i have heard u can use e-max shafts. is there any modding that needs to be done to the e-max shaft to get it to work in my ax-10. i;am running stock wb and links if that helps.

Try the 'fix' for the driveshafts, Driveshaft Rings. Here's a link for info about them: http://www.rccrawler.com/axial1207.html (about halfway down the page)

just get the metal stampede yokes and use new stock shafts but throw the stock yokes in the tool box and use the metal stampede's

The cross pins on the stock shafts are to short which causes them to slip out

I've had good luck using the Traxxas #1951 Pede shafts with the Axial yokes.

Just know when to say stop hitting the gas.

The holes are too big on Jato shafts Bob.

Yes George, they are. BUT,the Crawlmaster on 8 cells has yet to pop them off. I believe it's due to the Jato's having shorter ears at the yoke, they won't flex as easy and pop off. I would pop the stock shafts off every 2-3 minutes during a run. Put the Jato's on and haven't lost one yet.

My sons AX-10 is running stock shafts with Pede yokes. Works well to....but,he's running a whimpy little 61 turn brushed motor.

Ah Bob, I can't get Jatos to stay on to save my life, but then I can't get Axial hexes to coperate either, maybe it's like EeePee says "Just know when to say stop hitting the gas"

some numbers.

Pede steel yokes #4628X
Pede half shafts #1951

Pretty much a direct swap.
Tighten grub screw into flat of axle/diff with other screw completely loose then just snug other screw into round side, a little Loctite can't hurt. Also helps to scuff both parts in a lengthwise direction, spline like.

Maxx yokes #4927X
Maxx half shafts #4951X

A fair piece more work.
(see 'My latest SW3 build' by Bender for the how to.)

What's the length of the stock AX-10 Driveshaft from yokes to yokes? How about the diameter of the stock Ax-10 yokes? Anyone tried the E-sav driveshafts yet?
