Cool Dovetailed Scorpion

Here's a few pics of my Scorpion.

Running an axle snapper motor
futaba rx/tx
tower mg995 servo
star cut and narrowed foam with 6 holes in the rim (weights to come)
2700/3300 stick batteries
and a viper 27turn esc (still to come)

Mech wise,

Stock shocks less blue springs, swapped in some Hardware store springs
Shocks run upside down complete with scale leaks!

Chopped and dovetailed body ( I hate painting so excuse the single runny coat and flaking paint! hence all the stickers!)

That's all the mods so far, but looking at getting the punisher shafts, and the alloy C's straight axle and knuckle kits.

Oh.. forgot to mention.. possibly some different tyres, but at the mo it's a muck around thing!

A few Q's if I may:

If running internal springs, how do you dial out the torque twisting?
Do axle snappers really turn THAT slowly? The LHS guy thought the motor was duff!
How many turns is teh axle snapper?
What's a decent weight to put in the tyres? There's a review out here that put 90g in all 4 rims (stuck on like on a real car-between the beadlock holes in the back)

Body is not the best. I wanted to retain the scale -ishness of the body hence the badly cut and shut rear end. Need new rear lights!

Hey nice truck. All I have ever seen the axle snappers in is 55t. They probably come in different though. Crawler motors do turn ALOT slower than racing motors though. I'd go with the Losi rockclaws if you're looking for new tires. They are awesome. Also consider getting rid of the sub-c battery. Get some 2/3a mounted on the front axle. Most of all, Have FUN!

2/3 A batteries are those used for 1/18th scale, intellect 1500 and such like.

Would these work?

I'm running a viper ec020 with a c rush 23 turn motor. (I can do 3 wheels at the squeeze of the throttle! Not sure how good that is for rock crawling, but I'm having fun!! If only they could build a slipper into the front or a dig type setup on the axle!)

It started out as a trim, then I played round with body height and wanted it as low as poss, so sat it ontop of the rear suspension brace and the stick battery at the front. Then marked and drilled the holes. i started flexing it.. cut a bit here, there, then saw somewhere, someone did a truggy style bob in the rear, so I cut out the jerry can and just kept cutting.

Looks like the Scorpion from above now. Can't wait to get another body on it!
