| Help Please, RC4WD Steering Link install
Hi all, I just bought the RC4WD steering link for my Ridgecrest: Aluminum Steering Link Kit for Axial Wraith (Wraith, Ridgecrest) Problem is, I don't know where that small spacer (in the link picture) goes. If I put it under the tie link (the short link coming from the servo), then the plastic ball link hits the inside of my wheel. I wish I could post a picture to show exactly my problem. If I don't use the spacer, then still the stock screw isn't long enough, and the screw RC4WD gives you is way too long. Anyone know what's going on? Maybe I'm not supposed to use the spacer? I've searched for pictures on google but can't find anything. And it's funny that there's not a clear picture of how it's install on the RC4WD site either. Any help is appreciated! It looks like a spacer to shim the steering. The spacer maybe to space the steering up. On the knuckle where the steering attaches?

Yes, my bad, I should've mentioned that the side I'm trying to use it on is the steering knuckle side. The order I have them attached top to bottom is servo tie rod, then spacer (included with the RC4WD link set), then steering knuckle, then drag link last. I just now switched it around a little, and it clears the wheel fine the way I have it now, but it's kind of weird still. Right now I have it ordered: servo tie rod on top, then steering knuckle, THEN spacer, and last the drag link. At least this way it doesn't hit the inside of the wheel anymore, but the drag link is a not level either. Because on one side there is a spacer between the link and the steering knuckle, and on the other side there's no spacer. I wonder if this is the way it was intended, because it's the only way I can see that it works. I wish I could find a picture of someone else's on google to compare it to. Maybe I can take a picture if it would help then. Last edited by trofferb; 01-03-2015 at 10:16 PM. |
