Howdy folks,

My local hobby shop has this advertised for about $445 new in the box. Is that a good deal?

$445 US dollar is over priced. However, based on your location, maybe that's justified due to duty or import fees?

I think they were about $325 or so US at a “good” price.

Getting hard to find new in box AX10s so could be price will rise a bit as these get harder to find. Just checked my LHS and they have 1 in stock, $470 Canadian which translates to about US $375.
One (1) new on ebay, from Hong Kong no less, US $350 but add US $100 for shipping, pretty steep IMHO.
One (1) used on ebay, US $325 + $20 for shipping.

Yes, and it's not like they're awesome collectable. Brand new much improved SCX10ii Trail Honcho RTR is about $329 and you can sell some parts like ESC, servo, etc to recoup some of your money. From here it's looking way overpriced, but as NovasArk said, might be proper for your locality.
