Anyone try their 4300 yet? The 3600 Dimensions list as 92x42.5x25mm and the 4300 at 89x42x30mm (LxWxH)... so the 4300 might be a better fit?

At basically the same price, and ~19% more capacity, it seems like a no brainer to use the 4300 over the 3600 if you're looking for max endurance.

This is the one I'm going with, probably 2. Looks like a beast of a battery and fits nice and snug. $54 at AMain

Forgot to post what I'm using.

The HobbyStar 3S 3700mah LiPo battery fits perfectly!

Figure I would etch this bit of knowledge into the internet for anyone else looking.

Bought a Dynamite 2S 4000mAh battery from LHS just to get things running. It barely fit out of the box. And by barely I mean it didn’t really fit or work....

https://i.imgur.com/PQL4q3ol.jpg

You really had to cram it in there and you also had to push all the wires through the firewall just to get the hood to close.

So....I ripped it’s hard case off.

https://i.imgur.com/EmKINH6l.jpg

And now it fits fairly well. At $45 a pop I’m not sure it’s really worth it. I plan on going 3S anyway but figure this will be good knowledge for anyone seeking a simple or cheaper solution.

Can someone enlighten me. I have the RTR, with that IC3 connector. I'm not buying a new charger. Is there something that works adapter wise or am I changing it to deans? Help!!!!

I dunno what the norm is but I went ahead and got rid of the IC3... de-soldered it and soldered in an XT60. I didn't want to be limited to only Spektrum batteries and I wasn't keen on buying a Spektrum charger when I already have a perfectly good Imax B6ac charger.

The IC3 connector is compatible with EC3 connectors/adapters that are readily available.

So I can get a EC3 male to deans plug that will fit into that stupid IC3 connector and I'm golden like Ponyboy? Anybody have issues with bullet/banana plug style batteries fitting into the battery box or do I need to run a wired deans unit only? Pushing 2 mos. and she's never had juice put through it.

I think you need something like this.

Note the IC3 connector have a 3rd wire for SMART data. I really like the idea of auto discharge to storage voltage the Spektrum SMART batteries offer, currently converting all my rigs to IC3 or EC3 for older none Spektrum batteries / ESC.

Another with the dynamite 2s4000mah lipo for the dynamite esc that have ic3. I ran the esc harness under the bulkhead into the batt tray. Balance harness fits nicely to the side with the batt wires up and over the front. Also, I replaced the long hood hinge screws with ones that don’t poke through digging into the wires as seen. Rtr came that way. Does the kit have the same screws that protrude? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...35f21fd3f6.jpg
Some wire slack is pushed forward so the hood sits down.

Currently running the 3S 1500mAh Goldbat batteries off of Amazon. They fit with room to spare and last about 30min easily. At this price for two I really don’t need anything else.

A needed mod for my battery tray.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d60d29995c.jpg
What’s left of the front bulk head with an added piece to tie them together and keep the battery off the trans. The screw holes line up with the holes for the wire hold downs on the bottom of the tray.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bf1139b1a5.jpg
The dash actually keeps the battery from moving back to far.

Room for lunch now with the battery lower and laying flat.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...990ce72cb3.jpg
That is the same battery pictured from my other post above with room to grow now. It falls in and rotates back into its tray above the trans.

This would be good for batteries that were too fat or too tall for for the Capra tray by a little bit. It still needs room to maneuver down in there. No real length gained but I cut it to still hold my battery snug side to side.

Just curious, but doesn't that mod make it difficult (very difficult, by the looks of it) to insert & remove the battery?

Looks simple enough to reach in from below and push the battery forward and pop it out like a Pez.

The strut rod between the shocks made it very difficult just to plug it in before this. It’s not difficult. I do use a finger up from below to guide the battery in or out to help rotate it. This case was/is a tight fit. I don’t mind the extra step. Once in place there is more room to connect and store the cable.

Edit. Correct brake weight

Re: Capra Battery Thread

One could remove the bulk head just see how their battery would fit. There is a nut on the front of the tranny that spins with the running gear and wouldn’t react well to LiPo. Add plastic to prevent any possible battery contact with that nut.

This battery fits. I gambled and was able to squeeze them in. I can put up some pictures later.

Re: Capra Battery Thread

Quiet thread back to life. Yes a Gens ace 4300 will fit. I actually went with a couple 4100 LiHV from ProTek. 2 of 3 dimensions are the same, just each cell is a little thinner making the ~2mm thinner in that front-back measure in the battery box.
