I don't know if pic portrays my idea on how I will try to build the (cms) and steering rod but here it is nun the less. |

How thick is your servo bracket material, like .050? If so, you may find that your mount will bend under a steering load. My Bomber mount is a Z shape, (2 bends like you have, but 90 deg. each) .125 5052 and it still flexes a bit, even with the servo bracket being floor mounted and double shear'd to the chassis as well. On a side note, when you bend at your scribed bend line that the holes you have laid out will then be the material thickness closer to the bracket material above it than what you measure now before bending, in the event you didn't take that into consideration in the hole layout. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the shock links and how that will work. How do you intend to keep the caster/rear axle roll constant up front and out back? Won't the axles rotate, particularly when you get it under a serious load, requiring "traction/ladder bars"? This is great, I like outside the box builds. I spend a lot of time there myself. |

I did a little file finishing on the servo bracket and put the first bend in. and a little test fit. the two servo tabs will bend down for the servo to go thru. Last edited by Tim3; 01-17-2020 at 06:56 PM. |

I had time to work on the servo mount and getting it mounted. Remember, this Cap is v.10 version and will get another frame for the finished Cap. MAC FAB, I am winging it and there may be severe torque twist when I get V.10 out to run. just going to have to give it a run lol. I have this tendency and my friends will say this too.. why do you always take new things apart? I was going to tap some of the holes in the servo bracket but I used nuts instead. lazy me. lol. |
