Default BR Mini on a Capra - any issues?

Hi there folks,

Was considering a BR mini for the Capra but a friend of mine had an issue with it overheating - this was with the stock transmission, 16t 400 puller, 9t pinion and 3S. He reckoned it was because of the Capras high geared tranny....

Any experiences? And what combo are folk running with a BR mini that is working?

Thanks

I use a Micro X crawler edition on my Capra without any issues. Granted I'm not hammering it every second a battery is connected but it's worked great and fits quite nicely.

This is for brushless only though if I remember correctly?...

Have one on a long term Toyzuki project I’m building but not run yet 🙈

I did not know that, will look into it...

However, it is more than double the weight of the BR - Mini so not what I want for this particular consideration...

Thanks...

Just to update this thread for future info..

I sent a message to Holmes hobbies and Jeff responded saying that it should work fine with my suggested combo.....

Hmmm... Spoke to my buddy who'd had an issue and he did admit to running 16awg wire and potentially an old battery!... So this certainly could have caused the heat he was concerned about...

So no complete definitive experience other than Jeff reckoning it should...

I do have a BR on its way for a sporty build, if I cba I may try it and see....

As always, if anyone has any real experience of this already then please speak up!!! Although it doesn't seem to look like anyones run this combo....

Thanks..
