Default Cliffhanger capra

I dig the tube chassis, but I wanted to do something different. I had a cliffhanger body that I was gonna use for a different truck but it looked pretty close to the right angles of the capra. I'll probably do a little more, but I thought I'd share since I didn't see many people put bodies on them.

Came out great, I agree with ya - sometimes that mostly flat-panel over roll-cage tubing look gets old!

Someday (yeah, I know...) I'll finish my 2nd Bomber build that uses a flat-rail chassis and a regular body on top of RR10 running gear and axles.

I see you're up in Golden - my niece is heading back up there to continue her studies at the School of Mines.

Need to visit her and also stop by the Spyderco Factory Outlet!

Thanks! It took all of my "some days" to get it done. With a full time job,a wife and 3 kids, time has taken on a while different meaning.

Spyderco is just up the road, and there's a pretty cool crawler shop a little ways away from there.

Thought I'd leave this here. It's taken a bit of time, and I'm not quite pumped on the body, but I learned alot, I'll probably try one more time, but here's my capra with a body. I'm a little in patient, I'll post more pitches wedged I get the hood on.

I like it! Would probably look pretty cool with the rear fenders removed too.

Thanks. I went back and forth for a bit trying to decide, but then decided to cut the bed of and bolt it on separately, so they can be removed. Here's a picture of it unpainted without bed sides. I didn't trim the back of the body up to the cage cause I wasn't sure which way I was gonna go. But I'll probably trim off the extra part.

Are those 2.2’s? Any tire clearance issues on the 4ws version?

They sure are. The only clearance issues are with the door side of the fenders, and they just barely contact my trickrc rc lights. So no tire clearance issue, before I put the body and rock lights on.

I’m digging your cliffhanger capra. It looks like a proper internal cage, with bobbed and dove tailed truck body 4x4. Once is nice and scratched it will look really good.

My thoughts exactly, plus it's a Toyota body, if you look real hard(the original). It's on its way to plenty of scratches, still a bit to much snowhere for scratches, but she does pretty good in the snow.

What are pros or cons, thought on overdrive/underdrive. My capra flexes the tires easy, too much, the tires just fold over. They just push to the inside. I got overdrive gears and underdrive gears. Should i install both, or start with one. I recognize, both are gonna change the rig, but I'm looking for input from Peeple that changed gears.

Nice, I dig it! Have any pics of the body trimmed yet uncut sitting on the Capra?
I might get one off Amazon just to check this out and return lol

OD/UD speed up or slow down wheel speed on either front or back. OD speeds up and UD slows down. New Capra owner here and am awaiting OD portal gears for the front. Fronts will be spinning a little faster so will help pull the rig up and over obstacles. Depending on what kind of rock/surfaces you drive on too much a difference between front & rear speed may get detrimental to tires, maybe drivetrain. I saw this mentioned on lava rock.
I just read your last line, I have yet to change mine but will be Friday, once I find somewhere close to test I'll let you know how it went
