| Bomber shock/link mount slop
Just picked up my Bomber. My first Axial...not my last if they all look/feel like this truck...with one exception: While inspecting and checking screws I noticed the ball ends for the shocks and the links have room to slop side to side on their screws...this should make for parts that are easier to break and some unstable geometry...has anyone else seen this and what type of washer are you sliding into the mounts to take up the slack in the mounts? Are steel ball ends the answer? I don't believe adding torque to the screws is the answer...that isn't how a double shear joint works. Thanks |

In my experience trying to remove all the slack/slop from suspension can lead to binding issues.

Check the tops of the rear shocks. It's hilariously sloppy.

Pull your shocks apart too. Guaranteed they are half full of oil.

Those axial plastic ball ends after some hours on them will become so sloppy in every direction that you may wonder why they were ever introduced haha! I use the traxxas revo rod ends. I have actually used just the traxxas steel ball with the axial plastic end, and that has been way better then the plastic axial balls. |

You could also replace that top shock ball with the rubber grommet used on the top of the Wraith shocks. The shock caps are the same shape and size just different colors.

Used thin washers from hardware store to fill the gap in the link mounts on the chassis and the axles. Did some crawling and climbing with a friend with a stock bomber today...the slop reduction was dramatic. Also rebuilt shocks. Will be trying the Wraith top mount bushings after I get a new servo...totally stripped the gear set today. |
