| ratrod63's Bomber
I bought a new Bomber from Tower a couple weeks ago. As soon as I pulled it out of the box I began to take it apart. Then I tore it down to start installing the Axial 2 speed conversion. |

| Re: ratrod63's Bomber I used the Axial 2 speed conversion for the Yeti. I used the stock steering servo for the shifting servo. It fit in the supplied bracket perfectly. I installed a set of built Wraith axles. Vanquish Yeti rear upper links Carter Fab trailing arms ( I bought Vanquish arms at first but decided to use the Carter Fab instead) Dlux Yeti rear sway bar kit I also threw in my Futaba receiver , Tekin RS gen 2 and Tekin 17.5 brushless I put on a set of Vanquish Method 105s with Dueces Wild foams and Voodoo U4 SIlver tires. |

I took the Bomber out on its maiden voyage and quickly learned that the Tekin 17.5 is just not enough motor. I made a trade with a buddy and got a Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster 3300bv motor. Got the new motor installed. While I had the body off,I re-programmed the esc for drag brake. I forgot to do it when I first put it together. It was set to delay reverse and it sucked out on the rocks. While I had the skid dropped I figured I would snap a pic of the shift servo installation. The stock steering servo works great for a shifter! I also kept having problems with the spare tire hanging up on rocks. So off it goes! Last edited by ratrod63; 12-20-2015 at 11:57 AM. |

| Re: ratrod63's Bomber The H. H. motor works great. Very smooth and fast when you want it to be. The 2 speed works great. It is probably not necessary to have the two speed with the brushless setup. I just wanted to try it out. The wheel speed is great in low for crawling and in hi gear it hauls butt!

Clean looking build and nice pics! How do you like the 2 speed? Do you shift a lot or do you find it does about everything you want in one gear?

I also have a built Wraith with a Tekin Pro 4 3300. I find that sometimes while I am crawling I get too excited and blip the throttle too much. The Wraith goes flying thru the air like a jackrabbit! With the 2 speed in the Bomber , I crawl on rocks in low gear. That way if I get to throttle happy it is no where near the wheel speed of high gear. It just makes it easier to drive. | |
