Default Bomber Rear Lower Trailing Arms

If I understand correctly from reading on here. Yeti Rear lower links are a direct fit for a bomber. Are the Yeti upper rear links the same also?

Anyone have any other advice for the yeti replacement lowers, besides the "Vanquish Products Aluminum Trailing Arms for Axial Yeti"?

Are the Wraith front upper and lowers the same as the Bomber?

I see that the Wraith drag link and steering bar is the same as the Bomber.

Any other Axial parts a direct fit, or close to it?

Yes everything is Wraith front and Yeti rear. Trailing arms choices are Vanquish, DLux, hot racing, blue monkey, Carter fab, Werty made, etc.

Yeti rear uppers and lowers

Wraith front upper and lowers

There are some 6pc Bomber kits out now...4 front links and 2 upper rears.

Wraith steering links...

I have Vanquish lowers and have no complaints. They are burly and very well made. I have American Machine Works front and rear upper links...Also well made (in Ohio!) and very reasonably priced. 38 bucks for the links and revo ends. I have Vanquish Ti steering links but would have have purchased the American Mach Works kit had I seen it first...the Ti does hold up well to the beating it takes from rocks however.

The Vanquish stuff I got from my LHS...the American Mach Works links were purchased on Ebay.

Dlux has some very nice looking delrin links that I will try next. Super shafty has lnks as well.

These are also an option, haven't heard of them or seen anyone running them though. I kinda like how they don't hang down like all the other trailing arms so you gain some ground clearance. Not nearly as nice as Dlux or Vanquish but will likely get the job done too.

I've also seen the DLux Wraith trailing arms used that shorten the wheelbase (Screamer) I'll be going that route just as soon as I get the rig and can get my hands on a pair. On those lines, would the Twin Hammers rear trailing arms work?

Trailing arms hang down so the shock is mounted below the centerline. Mounting the shock even with the end will make for a floppy link and lots of weird side loading of the ends.

Some 1:1 Ultra 4 cars have straight lower trailing arms with a bushing at the chassis and shocks mounted on top of the links (Bombers are actually setup this way). The lower shock mounts have delrin bushings to control link roll and the poly bushing at the frame also helps control roll but theres enough play in the setup it can still flex. I bet with straight lowers and rubber bushings in the lower shock mount eyes and the chassis link mount, it would be just fine for an RC. Something like these...

Axial Racing Silicone Shock Bushing 7.5x8mm (6pcs) # AXA1356

If it actually works, bent lower trailing arms can be ran without any ill effects besides choosing the right length shock

Are you referring to an issue using the wraith length trailing arms?

Nope, physics.

If the weight of the rig (the shock) is mounted level with the ends, the link will twist around and not sit flat. If the shock is below the ends, the weight keeps the link flat and the ends loaded correctly.

As stated above, in 1:1 world people get around this with pucks on the heims or Johnny joints that pivot more than rotate. Limiting the misalignment of the joint limits "flex." You are building in binding to combat physics.

I don't see any good way to accomplish the same in RC land. Some fat o rings on the revo ends would probably be best, usually only at the skid end, unless you need more twist reduction.

Plastic ball ends don't last an hour, rubber wouldn't make it 5 minutes. Nitro fuel line splits and falls apart too easily.

Or you can mount the shock below the center line and not worry about it.

I understand what you are saying, I was asking to which post you were responding too? Are you saying that mounting a wraith length trailing arm will make the shock mount level with the ends which is not desirable?

No, sorry. The arms that were linked from ebay a few posts back. Raising the mount does give slightly better clearance, while creating new issues.

Do you know what Yeti trailing arms mounts shock below rod ends?
