Default MMX Owners...where/how are you mounting it?

Hey Guys,

If you have an MMX would you mind posting a couple photos or explain how/where you mounted it?

Thanks!

Stock tranny. I like your idea though...

Do you know if it will fit in the stock location on the TX box?

Here's mine. Aluminum plate mounted to the Wraith trans with two screws. MMX mounted to the plate with 3M double sided foam tape.

Since I have the stock tranny, I may go with stock location and do the air scoop mod that Harley made to get more air onto the MMX. Can buy it on shapeways for $15. Probably overkill, but looks cool.

I mounted mine like nfcrockett. I don't run the fan now. I probably will in the summer. So far the log hasn't reported any temps over 140. I have Velcro tape and a thin Velcro strap used to hold PC cables to keep it secure.

Do you have a link to the air scoop mod? I've been searching and can't find anything. I'll keep searching but I get distracted reading build threads and trying to do RL work.

Thanks for the link. I'll get one and use it in combo with the throttle finger for more air flow.

No problem. I am a sucker for any mod that could be deemed performance improving even though I doubt the mmx will overheat. Haha

He said he used 1-64 size screws left over from some vp stuff. But added that 2mm should work as well.

I assume it's Shapeways that does the printing. Shapewise seemed more interested in selling sugar free chocolates, which besides probably being disgusting, won't help air flow to my MMX.

My order is in pre-production at Shapeways. Pretty cool stuff.

Installed the Harley's scoop that Shapeways printed and it looks awesome. Venting the area above the ESC would probably be enough, but that wouldn't be as classy.

The Mamba X didn't even get warm crawling on Sunday. Granted I hardly even went 1/2 throttle, but let's just say the Harley Scoop is what kept things cool.

I found some black wire mesh last night that will look much better than the holes I made with a body router. I'll install it this weekend.
