Ditch the set screws use cap head screws with 2.0 heads. They don't look as nice but you can torque them down better. If you can flip the bars so you have good threads on each side on top, then make sure your tightening into the flat cut on the crossbar. Loctit it and let it sit overnight. I had the same problems as you but went to set screws on the bottom with 2.0 cap heads on top. Really you could use red Loctite too then to remove the sway bar just drop the stock axial plastic bar mounts or heat the red Loctite up with a torch when you need to remove them. My vp anti rocks have been bulletproof since I did this. Last edited by rngrchad; 07-17-2016 at 08:39 AM. Reason: |

Well removing red locktite with a torch on a plastic rig doesn't sound to smart but what you can use and very quickly is a solder iron for direct heat transfer to the screw. I just put these anti rock vp arms on my new bomber build . They are very nice pieces

| Re: vanquish sway bar It can be done easily with a mini butane torch without melting anything. Unless your real fidgety or have bad hand eye coordination.

I gotta say no - I have a set of the SSD arms, and also a set of JEC that use the Revo ends. The aluminum hole for the rod end to fit into on the SSD is just too small for Revo ends to go into - and boring them out isn't going to do them any favors strength-wise. It's a shame, because I really like the SSD arms and they are priced just right, but they only hold up to a certain amount of abuse... The JEC Racing arms and the Supershafty version of them are incredibly beefy and you can get stainless (heavy) or 7075 aluminum (harder than the usual 6061) versions - but they are out of stock everywhere. You can order from JEC Racing's website, but may have to wait a while until he gets around to making more - and RPP carries the SuperShafty or you can go direct: https://supershafty.com/collections/...-trailing-arms https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/ss-altasmt.htm https://jecracing.com/products/bombe...-arms-aluminum There is one other interesting option - JEC Racing makes Delrin versions that are the same super-beefy design, and of course still use Revo rod-ends - very light and slippery: https://jecracing.com/products/bomber-ta-s-delrin | |
