What's the ID of a beef tube? And where do they end? The shaft is 4.75mm vs 4mm, and the flange at the wheel end is tapered.

I would have like to see the inside flange tapered as well, that's exactly where I've snapped every rear axle. Not nearly as much of a concern with the added diameter though.

I just got a rear vanquish axle. Very very beefy looking. Thicker than the stock axial. I didn't take a micrometer to it yet but looks like a very nice piece. The axle flat tang that goes into the spool is a bit longer which is awesome. Can't wait to install it

I'm not sure about ID on Beef Tubes; but, when installing the stock axles with them, you have to grind the inside flange down quite a bit. This makes me curious to know if the OD of this VP chromoly axle is bigger than the ID of the Beef Tube. Just from looking at the pictures here, It appears to be substantial enough to be close.

edit:
I just realized that the flat tang is probably the same size as the diameter of the axle. Therefore Beef Tubes shouldn't be an issue after grinding the flange all the way down.

The tang is 4.5mm, the OD of the shaft is 4.75mm. Beefy.
