Default TrackAttack's attempt at a Bomber build

Long time lurker, first time poster. I bought my Bomber back around Christmas and have been modding it since. You guys have contributed to me spending way more money on this rig than I ever expected to spend. I bought the RTR when it came out and seen the potential to make it better almost immediately. Granted, I try to keep it in scale, but the performance bug does bite me. I recently upgraded the esc and motor to a CC Mamba X and Tekin Pro4 HD 3500kv. Still working those bugs out. Getting ready to take it to the smoky mountains and hope to be able to play around a bit to see what needs tweaking!

Mods, if the pics are too big, let me know and I will resize...

Thanks. I'll be updating the post with mods when I get back from vacation.

Playing in around the cabin in the Smokeys. This thing has crawled up everything I threw at it so far.

Added RC Locked up wheel studs to the Vanquish wheels. they really add rot the realism. I also added a spare to replace the original spare.

A couple more shot to show some of the details added:
I mounted the esc switch on the dash..

Upgraded to the Axial two speed transmission. I have not had a chance to try it out yet, as it has been raining all day. I did a neat little addition to the interior while I had it torn apart. I used a simple straight pin to emulate a shifter. Turned out pretty nice. Too bad it is too small to add a shift pattern on It!

Dropped in new ring and pinion gears today. Went with the higher gears since I did the two-speed transmission upgrade prior to this. It has a lot better control with low speed crawling now.

Replaced the front axle shafts today with a set of Vanquish VVD-HD axles. Much beefier than the stock, but the bigger reason is the added turning radius. Everything fit together well, except I think there may be some interference with the screws that hold the lower shock mounts. Not a whole lot, and I am thinking that a few runs will wear the threads off the screws? Anyone else deal with this in the stock axle housings? It will be a bit before I replace the axle housings..

Took it for a test run in the yard, and I am happy. I have a section of the yard with overqrowth and plenty of roots and other crap to navigate around. I was able to get through all of it without having to rescue the rig.

Replaced the stock skid plate with an aluminum Deadloc three piece skid. By removing just four screws on the bottom of the plate, you can access the motor and trans. Unfortunately, if you have the two speed trans setup, the servo mounts to the outer piece, meaning you would have to disconnect the servo arm to drop it. Just as easy for me to remove the six side screws and drop the whole skid.

There is a little bit more heft to the skid, so it may help to lower the center of gravity for better handling, we will see..

Overall, fit and finish is great, and can't beat it for the price - got it on eBay for $25.
