Default Bomber red parts : shocks and wheels

Since the start of my build, red and white have been my main colors along with silver aluminium parts from VP.

I recently found red aluminium headlights from OnetoomanyRC and made some red seatbelts for the drivers.

Then i realized that those blue king shocks will stand out and look out of place...

Is there a good brand of aluminium shocks available in red with white or silver springs?

For the wheels, Im planning on getting a set of lockedup RC silver 2.2 with the red rings but i'm open to suggestions as well.

Blue, meaning stock shock carps and the like, correct? G Made has red shocks, piggies look cool. Asia Tees may have something as well. STRC? If you run Slash length, all kinds of red options. Yeti shock caps and ends should fit the stockers, but they're black. Icon caps are black as well. Non red. Or get the Hot Racing upgrade kit and give it the easy off oven clean or the Lucas oil product (can't think of the name right now) and turn them back to raw as another option, again, not red of course, though it keeps with the silver theme. I don't think you'll be liking the look of white springs. If you're not bashing, I think any red bodied shock would work. That is another subject, does all the red match as some anno colors differ.

STRC has the shock caps, seats, and collars in different colours.

You can get light grey springs from Axial that have the same rate as the Bomber kit springs... I did because I hated all the blue!

Would a set of Dravtech red shocks from Dlux be overkill?

I personally don't care for that short spring, don't see that in 1:1 either, probably because of coil bind. A very, very nice looking piece none the less. G Made XDs look the best IMHO in a single shock application (already red), after some AE love so they don't leak, and they're a wash in price when compared to the Dravtechs. Or do it right, get the RC4WD Kings, send the caps/pieces out for red anno and then re-assemble them. Its only $$$$$$$$$$$$$$, right? Canadian, of course, so add $$$ to the price for the exchange rate and Intl shipping.

Meh i heard very bad things about the RC4WD kings.
I will stick to the Bomber king shocks and get gray springs for the moment.

I'll take a look at the gmade reviews.

Thanks

Agreed! Big bores with short springs suck and they look stupid IMO.

Black Proline shocks or black and red GMades would look great on your Bomber with that color scheme!

GMade for example:

You don't have to go short springs on the big bores, I certainly didn't... But those G-Mades are pimpin'... Also, there is a guy here... Lattice Innovations, he will anodize whatever you want for relatively cheap, doesn't require a big order.

You missed my sarcasm on the Kings.... Paint your plastic parts red, the springs gray? For what its worth, the G Mades looks like Sway Away shocks, keeping with the scale mojo.

The gmade are sexy, but unfortunatly i would have to go for the XD diaphragm or aeration shocks since Im using the half the front upper shock mount for my headlights.
The piggyback wouldnt fit.

Any opinions on Diaphragm vs Aeration shocks?
I have never used aeration before.

I would lose the aluminium caps but yeah, Gmade are perfect for the color scheme

Well the Gmade XDs diaphragm have the aluminium cap so i will most likely go with them if the Blue Kings drive me nuts.

Just saw some Proline piggy shocks at my lhs. 105mm so they're probably too long. I imagine they come in red, I saw blue ones. Hold your breath, $93 USD for 2 shocks. I picked up some AE piggy shocks, plastic, black body with gray caps, off a discontinued rig of some sort. They look the part. Team Associated #25059 is the part. $20 for a pair. Black springs and that matches the rig.

Smart move - those Proline piggyback shocks were roundly dismissed back when they were originally released... Definitely not worth the money.

CNC Machined Aluminum Shock Collar (w/O-rings) 4 pcs for Wraith, Yeti, EXO (Red)

Seems to get expensive tho, prolly a smart choice to just upgrade the shocks to Gmades for that price.

Yeah the strc stuff is nice but not worth it over the gmade xd aluminium.

Now if only there were good shocks for the 1/18 scale...
My yeti jr is begging for better front shocks but at 63mm eye to eye it's very hard to find.
