Default SSD Bomber front driveshaft

I ordered a SSD front driveshaft from RPP and waited for it to come off back order only to find out this. Anybody else had this happen to them? I contacted SSD when I found out but they only allow contacts through their website so I guess I have to wait to get a response.

At risk of stating the obvious, does it actually fit? Maybe the stock drive shaft is normally partly extended in which case the SSD will fit right in.

Ya, have you tried fitting it? You could always cut it down yourself. Not a big deal.

Yeah I've tried fitting it. The suspension won't even compress enough to reattach the shock to the front axle. The only way I could get it in was to disconnect the shock and let the axle droop way down.

Any suggestions on cutting it since it is hardened steel?

"Hardened"

Anything that cuts metal will be fine. Coated black = hardened for most of these companies. Hack saw may take a minute, dremel with a nice thin metal wheel would be easiest.

Deemed with a thin cutting disk should make quick work of it.

I believe on my MIP shafts I can't get them to install with out relieving the suspension on one side, I don't remember totally. I feel like just remove one shock and presto, its in

Dont cut anything!

Looks to me that you got an SSD00077 packed as an SSD00089.

We will send you the shorter SSD00089 female part.

Old thread but are you satisfied with the SSD driveshaft?
How does it compare to MIP?

I can’t say how it compares to the mip as I have never had the mip ones for my bomber. I bought it more for the scale appearance which it does well. The splines are nice and tight and I have no slop so far with them, so they seem g2g.
