Last time I was running my Bomber on the track, the front shocks seemed weak - specially when jumping. I do not have more PowerStrokes, but not sure if an another set would fit in the front... so, I've got these: They have no oil, and the internal springs are the softer ones. Mounted on the front truss - the front end feels a little bit better now... but we will see outside when jumping again! Then, my 8mm socket, which fits the widened wheel hubs, finally has arrived! Front wheels can be secured now easily: I was looking for something to cover the openings on the bottom of the cage... too much dirt was pushed in... found these things (from Scalerfabs): Now no more place to feel the motor temp by my fingers - but already know that it will be hot! The trail armors fit snug, completely cover those openings. It's time to start charging the batteries... |

I really like my ScalerFab rock sliders. Although they do make it difficult to touch the motor while also limiting ventilation, they definitely keep things cleaner inside.

Yeah, and they're hard to fit... you actually need to force them in place - I thought I am breaking them while mounting... At the end, however, looks nice!

I am trying to figure out how to embed a YouTube video... Any hints? It works! Last edited by Zka17; 07-15-2018 at 05:30 PM. |

| Just a nice Sunday morning...
Finally, the rain took a little brake! So, I had a trip to the track... Used the entire battery pack - just some scenes: The track was still wet from the rain, but it was a nice session! The aftermath: Nothing too bad what a good hosing cannot take care off... Well, maybe a little thing: Something always happens... |

Hoping that I will have some time for driving my truck this weekend, I went ahead and checked what is going on with the front wheels... These are not parallel by any means! Took apart the steering system - at first look wasn't evident any problem, but when I was removing the screws holding the tie rod, something was strange... also took off the knuckles because the axles was wobbling too much... yeah, the bearings are gone too... The axle shafts themselves were OK, no bend, no visible wear. Changed the bearings, remounted the knuckles - and something is still strange when trying to reattach the tie rod... the Ackermanns! Bottom line, twisted Ackermanns and bent screws... bad bearing just the icing on the cake... Overall not too bad... |

| First trail run! Paris Mountain State Park, South Carolina Lake Placid Trail This is a short loop (0.75 miles) around the lake. Pretty early in the morning, so not too many people. Since speed wasn't a big factor here, I used the 2s LiPo. The truck behaved very well, nothing broken observed so far... I think it took the test well... It is getting ready for some real hiking! But not before some more upgrades... stay tuned... |

Yeah, turned out to be OK... My initial dream was to build a truck for the trails we are hiking (saw another people doing it). This was a very short trail, really just to see how close to my dream I came - and it is pretty close! |

They'll certainly do the trick! Congrats on finally getting them in... Those rod-ends they come with are much stronger than the Axial stock ones, I'm hating the current situation with mine - should just move my JEC's over from the other set of axles... I dunno. |
