Default simple SCX10 hilux build...

nothing fancy here i traded Tanis my MRC for this hilux a couple weeks ago heres what it looked like when i got it...

droop front and small touring car shocks in the rear.
25t holmes handwound
JR 8711 servo
Mamba Max
3 cell
Axial CVD's and overdrive gears up front
Hand Bros. 3 link/servo mount
RC4WD rox locks

I changed alot of the suspension around...3.5 aluminum Traxxas shocks up front and kept the touring car shocks in the rear but changed the mounting hole. also had to shorted the rear suspension about 3/8". i used 5318 traxxas lower links and 5319 upper links mounted from an idea i got from Tanis. the rear suspension has virtually NO torque twist...i couldnt believe it. even less than the stock setup heres what i came up with...

and after a little paint....

finally learned how to braze, and ive got a new respect for chassis builders now the actual brazing is fairly simple, but getting everything to stay still while your brazing is the challenge heres my first set of sliders i did last night. i havent cleaned them up yet, so they are ugly....

built a rear bumper tonight...

ill start on the front bumper as soon as i find another winch for mockup

Did you switch cabs? The first pic shows quite a bit cut from the front wheel well and the later pics have a full fender.

not very well its decent, but not as good with the stock shocks. i couldnt use the stock rear hoops unless i wanted it to look like it had a 1" body lift

Nice choice, Most of the full bodied Hilux trucks look stupid for that very reason

Nice looking build rednck, couple different looking ideas. Have you had it out yet, and how did the rear link set-up work? Keep the pictures coming.

Looks great I think the Tamiya bodies look the best on the SCX10 chassis.

Man, for just starting out, that is awesome work. I really like the rear skid bar/bumper on the rear. Just great. Looks like a fun build....

thanks guys

i did get some more done on it this weekend... i cut a piece of 1/4" round delrin and made a cross member. then mounted a servo mount up front and drilled two holes in the cross member to mount a custom cut battery tray i made out of 1/8" delrin

also got a pair of the new Pro Line shocks for the front...these things are SWEET! my only complaint about them is the springs are a little too soft.
