Default Making a list.. Checking it twice...

I'm trying to get a list together of things that I will need or want with a present from my wife of a SCX10. I already have a TX/RX, BL system and servo, Plus a body cause I hate the stock one..lol But am wondering what else I may need or want to get for it. Is there anything that needs to be delt with from the start?

This will be my first kit and scale build. I have a chevy styrene body with extra styrene stuff to help with this build. Where do I find a grill, bumpers and whatever else I may need for the body to make it complete?

Thanks guys and I'm sure I will have more questions as the "LISTS" deadline gets closer..lol

Hand Bros. CMS kit

What brushless system are you going to use?
What Chevy body? Clod?
If you're going with a Clod lid, here's a resin repro grill on fleabay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Tamiya-Clodbuste...item5884002509
Ecoli and one or two others have used them and they look pretty decent.
There are a few different style bumpers out there. Check out MSD's front and rear bumper here: http://www.montanascaledesigns.com/s...x.php?cPath=27
Pro Line and Axial also make bumpers...

Yeah...What he said!
Also just checking out and reading other member's builds will give you a lot of great ideas.
Oh yeah...and get rid of the stock tires for some rc4wd Rok Lox or G8 Flat Irons if you want traction.

Hey thanks, I'm going to get a ezrun BL system (I've had great luck with them so thought I would try it out for a trail truck) and was looking at the Tamiya Clodbuster monster truck body #58065. Unless I can find a better newer Chevy body.
After looking at the pic more, what do you guys do for interiors? Man this scale stuff is going to be fun...lol

X2 on the Rok Lox. I recently put a set of my SCX10 and they do quite well. This past Sunday I was out with a group doing a trail ride through water, mud, snow, etc. They got packed with mud and still had killer traction

Styrene and Tenax are your friends
A lot of people use the Recaro cell phone holder seats or make their own, Team3six makes some really nice looking seats and they are reasonably priced and better looking than the thick plastic Recaro seats. For interior parts, Axial makes some killer looking detail parts now and there is always the trusty Tamiya Wild Willy's parts (steering wheel, shifter, etc.). RPP Hobby also sells some really nice scale interior stuff

Hey thanks Matt, I hope styrene will be my friend..lol I do plan on making as many of my own parts as I can. This will be my first time using if wife goes with this package. After work I will check out some of those sites and see what I find.

I have to say that there is a ton of stuff you have to do to do a build and being my first one it seems to be overwhelming.. I have the most down and picked out but what do you start with first? I mean when building your body. I've seen some start from the inside and other start outside. Not sure what way is easier and makes it cleaner for a newbie.
I have the truck picked out and am planning on doing styrene for the floorboards and inside. Should I start there or work the outside first? Should I have the seats and everything I'm going to use first to make the right measurements?
Should I wait till I have the truck built first before working on the body?
Sorry for all the ? but theres alot to learn and want to do right so I dont waste money. This hobby is spendy as is dont need to make it more..lol
