Arrow My K5 Blazer build, of course its always in progress!

In this truck is a kit scx10 or course, Axial AE-1 esc, 15t HPI Firebolt (only until I get around to putting a true crawler motor in here) and a Hitec FM aggressor radio (I know it's nothing special, but it's 3 channel and FM)

First off here are a few reference pics of my 1:1 that is my inspiration.

One of the first things I noticed on the ProLine 80 Blazer was that my 85 Blazer had a different front end and a few subtle changes to the body lines.
Stock

Changing the front

Thats more like it!

I of course changed the battery to the front (it's a left over battery, not the one I will be running.)

You may also notice that the shocks are not stock. I had a few Traxxas Big Bore shocks laying around and decided to try those.
They were a bit long and needed a rebuild anyhow, so I used the rubber stopper piece from the SCX10 kit and placed it INSIDE the Big Bores.

Made them a little shorter and as it turns out EXACTLY the length of the stock shocks!! Woot!

Other little details I have done are the window divider on the topper and the silver molding down the side.

In progress at the moment is a rear bumper, I hope to finish soon, and will post pics when I get it mounted.

Sorry for the blurry pics, my phone only likes sunny outside pics. Might borrow my friends camera at some point for some better pics.

One last photo of a driver I found laying around (haven't actually picked a driver, but this was too good to not get a pic)

Funny thing is I might have to get a Revoltech figure after looking at this.

That is my plan. Gotta stock up on styrene before I get started though.

I actually rewired the lights and added a switch so I can have either the top two lights on, or flip the switch and have all four on. I'll get some pics of them up soon.

Default Wow I am bad about updating.

Where to begin, there are a few updates...
I finally finished the headlights and installed a switch so that I can have either 2 or 4 lights on...

I finished making a rear bumper, not a fan of the amount of chrome there is so I might end up pulling it off and repainting it...

I got the mirrors and wipers mounted...

and finally I have been playing around with obstacles for a course, and testing out insulation foam, made a small mock up I am going to use as a display stand.

I am going to get some textured paint to make it appear as rock, but it's far too cold in my garage to paint any more this year, so I am going to have to live with blue till spring I think. Until then I have lots of time to chip away at the ugly flat surface of the foam and make it more rock like Also got around to taking that green off the beadlocks, didn't match my truck at all.

Looks good. Very scale. The only thing I would change is lowering it a tad. It seems to be sitting very high. You could always use bigger limiters in your shocks.

The only thing wrong with doing that is...
a. I don't like trimming the body.
b. right now I have all my weight in the front and the battery is very close to the hood as it is.

I have been trying very hard to make it as close to my truck as I can (other than it being black and my truck is blue, and the body pins) In hind sight I would have changed the mounting system, but I was impatient to get it on the truck. Upon review of these pics I have noticed that I forgot the black rubber on the rear bumper, am fixing that right now.

Looks great man, you did a good job on the paint job and the grill is pretty cool too. Just remember when you put up your pics everyone sees something different, and there opinions don't mean you have to change anything. All that matters is your happy with your rig

Thanks a lot! I'd love to see what you have done to your 80 chevy! I'm not loving my grill, trying to decide if I want to go billit grill like I want to do on my 1:1 or if I should copy what I currently have then change it when I change the 1:1. Also am going to be building a grill/brush guard after christmas. Will post pictures when I get far enough.

He seemed pretty happy in there and was a better fit than Hot Rod or even Optimus, and Starscreams wings made him awkward.

Figured it was about time to add an update, kind of a lot of changes since my last post in here.

Been working on an interior.
Started out with the cd case wheel wells

Built a flat base to build onto

Test seat

Added the raised platform in the rear

Then used the back of the test seat for the rear

Went with the leaf spring conversion from RCBros

The spring are a little stiff, but i was going for scale.

Also got some beautiful aluminum rims, which make me realize how BAD the stock ones really are.
