Default first real scale build - F-350

Well i have been into rc for about 4 years and rc rock crawling for about a year and finally decided to post a build thread. I bought a berg off here and than traded it for a stock scx-10. Planning on doing a f-350 with some tube work after i get my body. Going to try to do something like a top truck/exocage truck. I should have pics up of what i have already done tomorrow

Sounds like it's going to be a pretty cool truck when's it's done. I just finished building my SCX10 F350 scaler about a week ago(except for some electronics parts I still need to buy). Didn't do any tubing or cages because I don't know how though, lol. So it won't be as cool as yours sounds like it will be, but if you need any tips for mounting the body, etc. just shoot me a pm, or post a thread(I check this site additively). Good luck!

How much runtime do you get out of that thing? I would call it a brick, that could be a cinderblock lol

I get an hour out of my 1800mah 3s, cant imagine that you would ever run dry with that beast! I like the shield around your spur/pinion, I have had more than a few tiny rocks get wedged in mine.

Not sure how much run time because i havent really ran it put it does have some punch with the 7t, I made the spur cover because my battery wires would always get eat up, for all the rocks and mud I am going to make some fender wells

I was able to run it today testing out the winch and battery, it is super fast, i think the more amps of the new battery makes it faster because I was running 3s 1800mah lipos before and it didnt have nearly as much speed and power

Nice build but that huge battery is going to make your truck super top heavy. You better off going with a 3s battery in the 2000 mah range

Yea I know it is a little top heavy put I might move it up front to help out a little but I have to decide if I want to keep a winch or not so idk, hopefully my body will get in tomorrow and I can get that mounted up

Finally got an update, took a while for the body to get in but I finally got it. I shaved the door handles, tail gate, gas door, and I filled all the holes. Also re-did my electronics to mount the battery up front. I still plan to shave the rear tail lights, chop the top, and dove tail the front and rear, I am not sure what to do with the bed cause I want to do a drop bed but I dont want the shocks in the bed, Going to start doing some brazing soon starting with the sliders, bumpers, rollcage, than exocage. Going to try to get more work done tomorrow and get some better pics
