Most mods are free, move battery low and up front, remove bump-stops from shocks, weight in the tires etc...I would order up some lead weights, some Roc Loc tires and some cool lookin wheels...maybe a good body, lights etc. The chassis is pretty danged capable out of the box allowing you to spend more on accessories, dress up and scale items etc. Have fun!!! I agree with 66. Besides weights in the tires and different bodies (HPI Bronco, Bushwacker and Ambush), my SCX is still stock and performs really well.

If you throw on a set of 2.2's, I bet you'll crap yourself like I did lol. The only performance upgrades I did were 2.2 Flat Irons (weighted and vented) and the hand job steering kit.

Everytime I see a post from 93 Bronco I know its well obviusly going to be a Bronco Therefore I have to reply...LOL. Man in my opinion the parma body is a little cartoonish BUT.... things can always change with a little creativity. Heres my thoughts if you want them. Definatly put a good servo on your list. As far as a body if you want to use the parma put some flares (from the guys that make SDI traildoctors) on your list. They offer diffrent styles and you can make the body look better with them. ROX LOX!!!!!!!! ALL THE WAY on your list for the Parma body and HPI body. 1.9 slingers are a little too small. And finally a little hard to come by and probably not a christmas list item but a King blackfoot body would be a good start...BUT the wheelbase is too small. If there was a way to combine the Parma body with the blackfoot body you would have a sick body. I started a project doing that but got the Tamiya bronco body. IT CAN BE DONE THOUGH. Its hard combining lexan with a hard body but can be done. Just my two cents. |

Upgrade the 35t Integy to a 35T handwound. Rok Lox should go on the list.

Glad to hear that theres not really to much you need to do right away. Sounds like mostly personal mods and the stock kit is just good..lol

Of course if you buy a hitec servo they are sealed from the factory thus waterproofing is not needed. I would stick to the have to haves to get the truck running versus buying mods at this point. Like said, most of the good mods are really cheap if not free. Bone stock with good electronics it performs really well. The only real need is weighting the wheels. I also agree with the above post on the motor, if running through mud and water I would not spend the $$$ on a hand wound motor and stick with the cheapies at this point. |
