Default SCX 10 mods collecting thread

I thought that it would be a good idea to make a new thread, where all mods for the SCX10 can be posted up.

Replace stock shafts with stampede half shafts eliminates shafts ripping apart from the yokes. This is not mine, I found it on here. I have done it and it works great. Definitely cheaper than buying aftermarket shafts.

If you are not going with a longer shock than you will not have any more travel than you did before. All you did was make the truck look goofy and raise the COG.

I am curious though, why did you not just mount the shocks to the forward facing rear shock hoop hole? Better angle may even lower the rear a bit. Thoughts?

the shocks are mounted lower then the mounts themselves, i think he'd get more articulation

If he has 82mm (for example) shocks and they are mounted in the same vertical position as before, only lower, than how will he get more articulation? Wont it be the exact same amount only from a different starting point?

When sitting flat on the ground the shock will travel the exact same amount. the only difference here is that he raised the rear of the truck, I assume causing driveline angle issues and COG issues. If I am wrong please tell me but unless he changes the mounting angle ( IE the silver truck in the beginning of the thread) he will be getting the same travel. What am I missing here?

E30 is right. If the shock bottomed out at 2" before, then it will bottom at 2" now. The belly of the truck will be higher off the ground, but the bottom of the tire will still only be the same height The only reason to run a lift kit like that is gain more clearance to run larger tires without rubbing on the body during articulation. There isnt any benefit to doing this on a 1.9 truck. My truck has stock shocks in the stock position with bump stops removed and I can bottom the shocks under flex both front and rear.

Alternate body mount. Low up front or rear and out of the way. Should re-enforce lexan around mount. Could use to add strength to Velcro style mounts that have been used here. If this is not what you are looking for let me and I'll delete.

Yep, the only way you'd get more travel is if the shock was compressed previously meaning you maybe got 1.8" instead of 2".

Just a quick thought... isnt this thread going to end up being infinite? I mean there are so many mods you can do to this chassis that the possibilities are endless. In theory every single part can be replaced by something after market, so you can get 1,000s of different combinations of mods you can do... and they are all correct.

Also... wouldnt most of the mods fall under the Tips and Tricks post that is already stickied?
