Default Custom steering anti-shock

whats the purpose?? ive seen it done, seen the pics...but the post doesnt really explain the porpuse of it...can some one explain?? thanks!

You mean the steering damper/stablizer/shock?

In the 1:1 world it helps prevent bump steer, or rather it helps negate the effects of bump steer. So when you hit a large hole the damper absorbs some of the energy and the wheel doesn't jerk out of your hands.

It gets mounted with one side to the frame (or axle housing) and the other side to your tie rod or drag link.



In the scale RC world they are for looks only. I can't imagine why anyone would really need one in an RC but stranger things have happened ...
