| 89 Ram charger.....now building front bumper
my proline 83 ram charger, as she stands now... well earlier this summer, she's a bit battered now. Well, I've done plenty of reading and watching the resident masters of styrene crank out insane details, bodies, accessories, etc and figured I would try my humble attempt at some "custom" details. here's the start of a new 89 style grill. "rolling along, maybe this won't be too bad." "hmm, that doesn't quite look right. center section looks too open, well maybe... what the hell was I thinking, this isn't going to work" "not liking this" "crap, that looks like s&*#, guess I'd better fill in some of that open area" "this might actually work..." time for some primer so I've got some trimming and filling to do in the head light cutouts but now I have a problem, what am I going to use for buckets? Anybody got any ideas what I can use? Last edited by 500swmag; 03-13-2010 at 06:21 PM. Reason: title change |

That looks fantastic! Great work! what are you gonne use for the grill work behind what you have done? As for the light buckets I would try to use some thin metal to get the most light forward, maybe look at the axial light buckets and see if any of that could help. I redid the front of my Blazer to match my 85 and I hate the grill, so I will need to redo it. Love to see others ideas, so keep up the good work and I will be following!

Very nice work! I'm thinking about a '91 or newer one for my Ramcharger. How are you going to mount it?

Great job on the grill. If I had any ability with styrene I might have to give something like this a shot.

I'm thinking I'm going to clue some tabs on the back side of the grill then silicone the grill to the body with the tabs. Previous experience has shown epoxy and CA do not work well on lexan. Quote:
judging by your tube work ability I would think styrene would be totally doable.

I'd trim about a quarter of the total depth off and get them chromed (don't forget to paint the black before the chrome) and they will look awesome! nice work!

HECK YEAH! Lookin awesome man! Im thinkin bout doin the same with an F100 body, make either a 69 or even a 77 style grill for it, try to add some much needed detail. Keep it up and keep us updated! Matt |

New light buckets look good, they might be ok for depth if your planning on putting a led in them.
