| TJ hardbody... getting there
It's coming along, and with my last fall final done and nothing school wise for the next four weeks, it should be on the rocks before long. Still working out some of the bugs as well as finishing up the body work... but here she is. Going for the daily driver trail rig type of look, keeping it simple and lightweight up top. Combined with my brazing skills which are woefully inadequate, I am rolling the modified stock roll bar and a set of proline western bumpers. Anyway, more specs when she's done. Feedback is appreciated. Last edited by mmbackpacker; 01-11-2010 at 03:11 PM. |

Thanks guys. Yeah, the wheel base is much shorter. I can't decide weather to shorten the front a bit more or leave it, it looks much better with the bumper on, if I shorten it much more I won't be able to go with the pan hard setup... so it'll be 4 linked if I do. No pics of the floor drop, similar to srjeeper's TJ build on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD55Eaqhx1Y ) or over on scale4x4rc.com. Just cut it out and make it up as I went along, really. I cut the whole floor out, front and back, because to get the body low enough the shocks hoops need to stick up into the gas tank/ tool box. Last edited by mmbackpacker; 12-17-2009 at 07:46 AM. |

Painted, dash and seats finished, front bumper finished, electronics installed, she runs now, just a few more details to attend to (rear bumper/ tire carrier being the last biggie, some detailing, bolting down the winch and wiring it up, softer springs in the shocks, metal ball ends, light kit, stickers... All in all I am pretty dog gone happy with how it's turning out. Comments welcome and appreciated... MAD FLEX YO! Oh SNAP, is that mud! Inaugural mud, saweet! Great looking rig! Your paint job on the interior is perfect I'm working on a rig using the same body. Your seats look really good and I'm curious how you've done them. Are they modified stock seats or something else? |
