Default Birthday SCX10

Yseterday was my birthday and I got an SCX10 from my wife. This is my first build and was a blast to do and now only want to build my trucks from here on out.
I have a few questions:
How do you remove the green from the rings?
What about the foams? They seem huge and was thinking about cutting them down. What do you think? Any info on the foams?

Sorry about the pic, its from the phone... First time..lol

Keep the foams un-cut. To remove the green, soak them in some Drain-O or use some Easy Off oven cleaner.

Thanks guys.
Any advice for other things I should do?
This is my first scale and not sure if I should run weight in the front or other things I should do to make this a good trail truck. I do plan on meeting up with the local scale comps next year.
Now it's just a waiting game to see what body and elec I get for christmas..

Relocate the battery tray to the front, and you should be good on weight.

I put one wrap of weights on the front of mine, relocated the battery up front, cut every other lug off the outer row of lugs on the inside and outside of my tires, and took out the rubber shock stoppers on the shock shafts. These mods will get you started. Look forward to hearing about your christmas presents.. Have fun

Thanks for all the tips. I plan on making an interior for my body and don't know what body my wife is getting me so not sure where I can fit the batt at up front. Also want to mount my servo on the chassi. I think I'm going to have to wait till I get it to do some of those mods.
With the limiters on the shocks, I'm not sure yet. Don't want to much flex and with them on I get about 2 1/2 inches. But this may change after I get a test run in...
I think I'm going to do a build thread after christmas. Show what I got and what I'm doing plus I'm sure I will have a ton of questions along the way..lol

Here is a good how to on making the "green go away"

Making the green go away - step by step de-anodizing an AX10 for beginners.

I used this method and it worked like a dream
