| which scx10 model shall i get?
hey guys is was just looking on tower, which scx10 model shall i get? i have the electrics ready here for a kit, not really wanting the tr so out of the kit and honcho? i am a person who will love driving it if i have made my own sliders/cage etc.. not just bought it with it on it and plastic. for $30 more is the honcho really worth it cause i have a hilux what i want to put the honcho style (but self-made) rear cage/tray on. i personally am leaning on the original kit with the green beadlocks (eww!) but was just wondering if the honcho would be worth it if i was just gonna chage the body anyway? thanks!@) |

Get the kit if you are going to build your own stuff. You'll be more satisfied with what you have done. Plus, it will be more unique than a Honcho off the shelf. And the green comes off the beadlocks with some oven cleaner. Spray it on, let it soak for a couple minutes and you are all good. |

Based on the fact that you get all hex hardware with the Honcho, I'd get that and then sell the body/cage extras to bring the cost down of what you paid for it.

I'd go with the kit (i bought mine recently, with knowledge that the honcho was coming out) , check out RPPhobby.com, you can get the scx10 kit for only $205!!! This is the best deal around, it's $65 less than the honcho, which basicly leaves you with $65 to spend on upgrades, maybe $25 on a body, $10 on the honcho bumper (which is the coolest part of the kit, in my opinion) and the rest on random upgrades.

i'd go with the Honcho. I don't care, it comes with an extra wheel!

The only things you might want out of the honcho, given the fact that you want to build your own cage, are the spare tire and the hex hardware. Is that worth $65 to ya? if not then you answered your own question.
