Default Flatbed tuber clod body build

hey all im not new to the forum i have ben soaking up everything i could find on here for the last 6 years, well guess what i finally got the balls to share my first styrene project!!! started this body build about 3 nights ago, i took my perfectly good vintage bowtie grill clod body with 8 sets of holes and hacked off the bed, ditched the blower built a cowl for the hood (unremovable) shaved the back of the cab clean and fit the back peice and inner supports and gussets. this will be a removable body much like the new honcho body but with my own twist so im assuming this part of the body will be the most abused in rollovers.
i also got the fuel cell/tranny cover built and installed i think im gonna make the rear end bolt on due to painting headaches.

let me know what you think and any suggestions are welcome, i am thinking of some front flares also but i dont wanna make the cut till im shure what do you think?

sorry for pic quality the camera i used hasnt been used in a long time and date stamps arent right, lol i almost gave the wife her christmas present early its a new fancy smancy digital cam, cuz i wanted to retake these pics with it but i didnt give in!! any way here is the results:

Almost forgot the wife got me a winch for christmas for this build, and im hopen i can talk her into a set of 1.9 Rok Lox as well!!!

does anybody have a set of dingo flares they are willing to take a picture of next to or above the front wheel well on a clod body i havent decided if im gonna put flares on or not. if the dingos will work ill find some. if not ill make em like everything else.

what do you think, flare or no flare on clod front end. body is a bit narrow and doesnt cover tires as much as it should but i got alot goin on up front allready i dont wanna over kill it

ok new question why cant i get 1/4 inch solid styrene rod stick to itself with the styrene solvent glue? i can get it to stick with ca but the solvent glue doesnt seem to even make it sticky. it works on all my other styrene but the solid rod. i have both of the plastistruct solvent glues and neither of em seem to be working

Cool looking clod body. With how much the tires stick past the finders, I thing the flairs wouldn't look right. But, I might be wrong.

Hey spike I'm new to the styrene myself but have you tried "scoring" the styrene to see if that will help it to bond

no i havent but i also noticed that the rod styrene is a different grade than the sheets and strips it is much harder to trim and scrape with a blade which suggests that it is made under a higher presure process of some sort than the sheets are, these differences are also found in steel which i work with every day. the glue does work and does better when both surfaces are sanded with 80 grit sand paper, but im affraid it isnt gonna work good enough to build the tuber section with out added gussets on every corner (if its done right makes it look even better).
