Tommy, I've seen your vid on YouTube before just wondering what spur/pinion did you use. Thanks! |

I think I put that in the "more info" part of the youtube link, but I realize that doesn't show up when it's embedded. It was basically stock SCX10 gearing. I believe the pinion was a 14t. |

Wow...so you basically went with stock gearing and threw on a 12T 550 size motor from your Slash and no problems whatsoever especially with the drive train?

Ive been running a 10.5 Tekin motor on 3s lipo. Nice and speedy.

John, is that Tekin a brushless motor? Does it crawl worth a darn or is it mainly a high speed setup only? I was considering one of your puller motors to be the best of both worlds. Are your 7T pullers okay when subjected to water or mud? | |

| Perhaps you could shed some light on a question in regards to esc for applications like this. In a effort to get low speed controll, is it possable to design a speed controller with say, twice the steps up to half throttle and wider spaced steps past. Exponentional just never seems to work out right when tweaked from the controllers.

With enough resolution and the ability to tweak the throttle curve, you can get nice control down low with high top speeds. I don't have a problem with the RS system and the 4PK controller. I wouldn't put a high dollar motor in the mud. Better to take a cheapie and throw lots of voltage at it for a few outings. The tekin is a sensored brushless. I don't get it in the water. |

I just made a little tough truck course on the side of my house, and you need some speed to do the jumps. I have two scx10's, one running a 35t motor on 3s, and the other running 7.2v on a revenge of the monster pro 27t stocker. With a 27 tooth pinion on the 35t, and a 21 tooth on the stock motor, they both have about the same top end of about 20mph. Thats moving fast for these little trucks. My only question is can the FXR handle a 27t stock motor on 3s? I think going fast with these trucks is fun! They are so simple and flexible. All I have to do is drop the pinions back down to something normal and I have crawlers again. . . I would really like to hear about some other setups others are running. It is so common to see the 35t, or the 55t motors, for crawling. I'd like to see some other setups geared toward making the scx10 fast. I have seen one other, BL on lipo, by another member. Drunk |

I think 35t is the fastest motor recommended for 3s use on the FXR

The downfall of 27t stock motors is bushings and the timing is cranked a little far for longevity. They will most likely get hot. With a seperate BEC, you might be able to make it live ran by a fxr on 3s, but no gurantees. |

Holmes Hobbies 7T puller on 3S LiPo with 20/84 gearing. Mamba Sidewinder ESC. Super fast and somewhat driveable at full throttle. Hops rocks like a frog and is very driveable on the rocks. Holmes Hobbies 21T Handwound on 3S LiPo with 22/81 gearing. Holmes Torquemaster ESC. Stupid fast and uncontrollable at full throttle. Jumps reaaaaally good though and skips across the rocks.
