Default Ordering a SCX10, Question

I am ordering a SCX10 kit and I need to pick out an ESC and motor. I have pretty much decided to go with the Tekin FX-R and I need some help on the motor. Before discounts, Tower has the FX-R priced as:

$94.99 ESC only
$114.99 ESC/ 35T motor combo (OUT OF STOCK)
$149.99 ESC/ 35T pro motor combo

Both Integy 35T motors are out of stock. They do have the Axial closed can 27T for $13.99 that comes in the TR. They also have a HPI Saturn 35T closed can motor for $13.99.

Which choice would you go with:

a.) Buy the pro 35t combo for $149.99 (is the pro motor really worth $35 difference over the standard tekin 35T)?

b.) Buy the ESC by itself for $94.99, backorder one of the integy 35T motors and buy the Axial 27T to use for now/ keep for spare later.

c.) Same as "b" above but buy the HPI Saturn 35T can motor while I wait for the Integy to come in on backorder.

d.) none of the above.

I am going to be using a 6 cell subC Ni-MH battery/ wall charger I have on hand just to get me up and running, and start doing lipo batt and charger research and switch to 2S or 3S Lipo shortly after.

I will be using the SCX for more trails than crawling but a little of everything. Not a lot of rocks where I live.. I can find a unicorn about as easy as a rock around here.

try another site, I know i've seen the tekin fxr combo (non-pro) for about $105 on other sites, and theres plenty on ebay. I dont think you would notice the difference of the "pro" motor, especially if it's your first crawler

either get a 35T combo kit, or get a ESC and a Holmes Hobby 35T hand wound, then run it on a 3s LiPo! My old scaler ran great on that combo.

Thanks guys. I'd like to stick with Tower for this order because I have a $60 off $300 coupon as a member and free shipping and I'm making 2 orders that size to use it twice. That is a 20% savings and free shipping which is good as long as the items are not signifigantly higher than elsewhere. Not to say I don't buy from places other than Tower because I do.

I have decided to buy just the esc by itself with the kit to fill out order 1 and make coupon. I'll go elsewhere for the motor if need be, preferrably one of the forum sponsors like Holmes Hobbies.

So I'm paying $75.99 shipped for the new Tekin FX-R and I don't think I'll have any regrets there.

Thanks again, and I'll check back again to see if anyone has any other 35T motor suggestions.
