| Chip's SCX-10 Honcho Build
Well, I told Santa I wanted a SCX-10 Honcho for Christmas and when I woke up this morning there was one under the Chripmas bush. I am going to build this this truck with one thing in mind..... K.I.S.S. and no I don't mean the band, Keep It Simple Stupid. I am going to use the ESC and Servo from a 2WD Slash. For the motor I am going to use 550 can 21 turn Magnetic Mayhem motor from Kyosho for a little wheel speed and fun. I am going to run a 8 cell 5000 mah NIMH battery. The truck will have a 3 Racing winch and 5 1.9 Rok Lox. |

| Well, there is not that many original built rigs out there anymore. With all these McD's scalers out now just about everyone is doing it the easy way. Any of you guys building the Honcho finding that the hardware is kinda sorry and strips out easy ? I have a very good set of drivers so I know that is not the problem.

Got it built... Pretty sweet that the 3 racing winch is a direct fit on the bumper, but you have got to trim out the front bumper panel some. Shot of the Honcho by my Hi Lux Now, I need to hit the LHS for some paint and get this sucker painted up. Last edited by chip cross; 12-25-2009 at 06:43 PM. |

I like the " Invisible Truck" look . I am trying to decide between the Honcho and AX10 with a Jeep body . |

I just ordered the Tacoma sticker sheet, Warn winch sticker sheet, and the Ultimate sticker sheet from Bowtie that should really make this build nice.

I have been being lazy bum. The only thing I have got done is all the electronics in and replaced 98% of the hardware that came with the truck. I changed it out to stainless steel. I just need to order some 2 mm hardware for the bumper, bed, and beadlock rings. I am gonna get everything painted up today. I broke the winch hook about 15 minutes after I opened the package it came in so I replace it with a unit from Garden trucking. Got to have a flex shot. I know what you mean, I'm pretty lazy most of the time. The SCCX10 Courier I'm doing will have the most detail I've ever done to a rig. I've also been replacing all my hardware with stainless as I go along. It's nice stuff and the local Ace hardware carries what I need and orders it in bulk for me. That way I don't always have to drive all the way to gulfport for regular hardware. Can't wait to see what color you decide on!
