Hi all Hope everyone had a nice christmas and are all feeling well fed and rested. I've been working on my Honcho kit over the last couple of days and I got it all finished today. I didn't even get confused (much!) trying to follow that manual while full of festive cheer. Anyway I didn't detail every step as my workbench got quite cluttered during the process, just one or two milestones. I hope you all like my truck! I've had a lot of fun building the thing and I can't wait to start slapping loads of little scale goodies on it. Oh god, so many bits Half way there ish: Nearly done: Yay it works! I can't wait to get out and play with this and see if I've missed out any parts. I did have one or two left over... I'm going for the 'Australian UTE' look with mine hence the placement of the antenna on the winch bumper. Looking forward to getting a winch and a led light kit, I think they'll add a lot. I'll also have to arrange some form of roof rack I suppose... Installed the 55t motor because that's all I have, I'll need to speak to lhs and get a 35T on the go, it goes ok for the moment. I found the most complicated part of the process was getting what I suppose is the right amount of shock oil into the shocks, I didn't really understand the manual, pull the shock arm all the way down, fill with oil, work arm so bubbles come out - got that, but when you push the piston all the way back in and wipe off the excess oil how much oil should be left in the reservoir out of a scale of 100? I was a bit worried that I didn't leave enough oil after wiping off the excess, I think about 90% remains in the reservoir, was that too much or too little? I don't even know if what I'm saying makes sense but since this was my first build I got a little confused about that. My other truck is an AX10 ARTR so I've never had to build a shock before. Thanks for looking! |
