Default Waterproofing my scx10 tr

i want to waterproof my rig (scx10 tr).Im going to be cutting up cd holders for inner fenders and im going to get a food container to hold my electronics. Will this be enough waterproof my electronics (except the servo) or should i do more. im going to be running it in snow if it snows here and in water and little mud. Let me know what i should do. Thanks

If you can seal that plastic box, you should be ok. There are a few different Tupperware kinds of containers that you could use. All depending on what kind of room you have inside your rig, also check out the plastic baby food containers, they're disposable but pretty durable (if you've kids or know people who do, they may have some of those containers sitting next to the Tupperware already!).

For different ideas and details, check out the "Waterproofing" thread that's Stickied near the top of the Electronics section.

I coudn't fit everything in the box so I sealed my rx in there with Silicone and then put a condom around the ESC and zip tied it shut. I have had this setup fully submerged many times and nothing has gotten even a drop of water in it. Of course for the condom make sure and wash it good if it comes pre-lubed.

Plain non-lubricated Trojans. Also work good over the end of a rifle if you are going swimming (the US has been using this trick since WWII to keep the water out of the barrel) They still use it on some equipment.

Get a Traxxas waterproof receiver box. You can also pack the device with dielectric grease. Look at the waterproofing thread in the electronics section. Lots of good ideas there.

I used liquid electrical tape to seal the axial box, then for my esc i had an extra mtronics rv15 lying around that works decent enough

used the same stuff for the servo, with grease applied to the horn area

Ive gone mudding and havnt had any problems

I used a project box from Radio Shack.

I made all the electrical connections "bulk head" style (everything uses eyelets).

Then I sealed the box with liquid electrical tape. I've had it submerged a few times and nothing gets in.

Check out my build thread in this section for details/pics.

using the stock radiobox, i used ultra copper gasket maker (automotive) and went along ALL seams and holes. Did the same to my Servo & ESC even though it states its waterproof.
