Default Blue Bronco Build

I've had an original SCX-10 for a while now in stock form and felt it was time for a new look.

I liked the look of the Tamiya 73 Bronco body. Painted it up and begain to customize the chassis.

Body Painted

Built all new links from 1/4 steel tube and 8/32 rod. Except for rear uppers - I brazed 3mm nuts to the tube worked well, but ran out of 3 mm nuts. Rear of chassis is trimmed 1 in.

Body mounted on lexan with velcro. Need to trim the front of the frame and fab up bumpers. Shortening the front links causes major issue with the cross members and fit of the radio box etc.

Next up I am going to switch to LiPo , as the 6 cell is just too big and heavy to mount anywhere easily.

Thanks all. Here are some pics of the front bumper I have been putting together. It's out of 3/16 tube and 1/8th rod.

1/2 way done shot -

Up and mounted. I need to trim the C channel in the front some. Might add some skit plates.

Thanks for comments, they keep me motivated many firsts with this rig and a lot to learn from the many talented folks on the board.

I will line the wells, the interior is a maybe.

I made a read bumper and also for some reason I thought it would look good with a spare, so here is what I came up with. It's made from 3/16 tube, 1/8 solid square, brass square for the hitch holder.

The nut and bolt that hold the tire on needs some more work. Of course more to follow, maybe license plate, cb antenna.. etc.
