Default KMrunner's Taco Honcho

She's a roller. Still need to do electronics. Sprayed it with Pactra Outlaw Black. Was going to spray the top of the bed with some anodized aluminum but decided to leave it black for now. Crappy cell phone pics. Will try to get some better ones later.

So I have a question or two. Do the light buckets for the front headlights come with the kit? I don't see them in my kit at all. I was also missing a few other pieces it seems.

Can you buy an extra set of hex hardware for the SCX-10? I am missing a few. I dropped a few during install but I am missing some also.

The light buckets are molded in the lexan with the cab. I hope you didn't throw them out when you trimmed up the body.

I will look there. Thanks!

I was going to paint the bed silver but I was trying to copy my 1:1 Taco which is all black. I like the way it turned out.

I was going to do flat black on the bottom and then anodized aluminum on the top. My hobbytown didn't have any flat black and I was too impatient. The anodized aluminum was also $14 a can so I scratched that real quick.

I'm trying to keep this a budget build but don't want to skimp too much.

My dad has a Losi 1/10 Sprint Car that never gets used. I was going to grab the RX/TX from that and use it on my SCX-10.

I believe I am also going to go with the Novak Rooster Crawler Combo. Would a 45T be good for this crawler?

My big dilemma is the battery. My dad has a 3600 NIMH battery. I was going to run that and buy a charger but what advantage does a LIPO have over the NIMH? I assume they are lighter and smaller which would be great. What size LIPO would you recommend?

I use a 45t with a 3S lipo (11.1v) and 18t pinion. It moves pretty quickly and has good torque.

For 7.2v or 7.4v I would think a 35t motor would be a better match. I had a 27t with 7.2v and it had decent speed and torque.

Couple of updates.

Modified the front bumper mount to get the bumper closer to the body.

Flipped the rear body mounts to get the cage to sit on the frame.

Inner Fenders from an old CD case. Not bad for less than 15 minutes of work

I'm not sure. All I did was cut the CD case in half with a razor knife. From there, I just held it up to the frame, marked the hole for mounting and then traced a rough outline of what needed to be cut out.

I used a dremel to cut the excess off. No problems cracking. I was actually suprised how easy it went.

Scalers always look better with fender wells, nice work on getting the body closer. Do the tires hit the body at full flex or still plenty of room?

The tires hit the body just a little under full flex but not too bad. Since I moved the bumper so close, the tires were actually hitting the bumper at full flex. I ended up having to move the bumper out one notch on the post but it is still closer than the orignal mount. I will have to wait to get electronics to make final adjustments.

Very nice looking rig .

I like the mods you did to get the cage the bumper to sit right.

The all black look is sweet.
