Default First scale build: Caged Silverado

My first build, started off with a SCX10 kit, proline powerstroke shocks, handbrothers steering kit and grey beadlocks, not much for upgrades. Saw a nice truck on here that inspired me, Speed88's chevy speed's SCX10 build

I bought the proline body, painted it up but it seemed to lack true 'crawler' appeal. In a mix between crawler and prerunner motivation, i chopped the bed and tailgate and fabbed a rollcage for the back. heres some quick pics, its nowhere near done, still needs some more bracing and painting etc.

hope you guys like it,

haha yea it's not my first rc, but it is my first crawler. I'm working on a custom fabbed western style front bumper, rear bumper, led's, light bar, the roll cage, and tire mount (all just in the meantime until i can afford a hilux body lol)

A quick update, didnt do much but un-bent the bed, and then reheated it right where it met the cab and bent again, trimmed the skirts a little, and the wheel wells. Just picked up a couple of these sweet lookin fire extinguishers, scale looks great, theyr all metal, and its actually a butane lighter! heres one on my rig, i put a few of them up for sale on ebay, $20 shipped if anyones interested, theyr really pretty awesome!!

how ironic, a flaming fire extinguisher!!!

That thing is sick, I actually want to build a scale rig that looks just like my 01 GMC 2500HD.

thanks, yea i really like this body, requires a bit of trimming in order to clear the wheels ( body posts are raised all the way.) its a bit dirty now, i wish i hadnt chopped it up so messy, if i could afford it i'd like to re-do the cuts now that i know the look im going for. oh well, if i dont like where it's going ill pick up a hilux

Lol, I wouldn't consider them fire extinguishers if they light fires.

I like the truck though and I'm glad it's not another Honcho.

Wow, That rig look great.

Nice job on the doved and tubed bed . Looks good. Not sure the western bumpers or going to complement the pre-runner look though.
