| Truck 107: KOH-inspired Yota build
i've had a couple crawlers/projects... but it's been a while since i've actually had one that ran well. the goal is a dual-purpose theme, similar to the KOH trucks and buggies. for right now, the truck is pretty damn simple though. really wanted to just get it running and keep from having yet another unfinished project. been having a blast with it so far. Axial really did their homework with these kits. the rundown: -SCX10 -Hand Bros kit -RC4WD alum. knuckles -1.9 Rok Loxs -beat Hilux body, stickered up at work -35T Warrior -Rooster Crawler -Hitec 645 -TQ3 -tube front bumper -6-cell NiMH some pics: with my buddy's AX10 Scenery for the day... future plans include 4-link rear, rear bumper and sliders, and eventually some cagework with the new body i have sitting around. who knows where the project will go though... simply enjoying it more than anything. looks good man. i know what you mean about unfinished projects, i have been working on my scx for the last two weeks and im praying to finish it soon, i had a project clod a few years back that started when i was 17 and i wasnt happy with it untill i was about 24 years old now im 26. now that is a absolutely insane long time of not being happy with one truck, i would buy chassis after chassis and different parts with no actual ending target to focus on, it sucked. then i found rccrawler.com and a year later i was finally happy for a change then i sold it and my other 9 rc's with wheels to do airplanes. i am very happy with the way the scx performs outa the box, and other than buying one for my wife and one for my daughter i dont think ill buy another. (i used to buy new rcs to play with while i worked on the clod).

i'll hopefully be 4-linking the rear this weekend. plan is to shorten and re-tap some axial lower links in conjunction with the TR axle truss/mount. i'll report back with a length on the uppers... until then, a few pics from our new years trip to the Hammers: with my 4Runner... hitting the real trails... |

thanks guys. the 4Runner squeezed through that section no problem. finally got the Yota 4-linked last night. used a TR truss and some grey axial links cut down to 3.1875" (~81 mm) for the uppers. pinion angle is pretty money... i'll snap some pics tonight |

Awsome! I lived in SLO for 3 years. I always thought Montana De Oro would be great for crawling and rc. Bishops Peak also would have some great areas and rock. In fact, I think the whole area is great for offroad and such. Do you guys have a club for scale rc in SLO? Nice truck, enjoy the town! Drunk |
