Default Axial SCX10 Motor Question

I see allot of people putting hotter motors in these trucks. The crawlers are all running 35t-75T. and the bashers are running faster 15t's & 12t's. Would a Traxxas VXL system on 50% power be too much for the stock setup? I've got one laying around and thought it would be great if the truck will hold up. I'm not trying to haul a$$ or anything. Just trying to have a fairly quick scaler/basher. I'd run a 3300 nimh pack and stock gearing so the torque wouldn't be too much? Any advise?

I have run a VXL on a SCT and at 50% it was similar to a 17 turn motor, with a ton of torque tho, I was running Lipo

You might get a longer run time out of the 50% VXL then a 17t motor. I'm not sure though, don't know a lot about the VXLs
