Default SCX10TR, just got it and I have a couple of questions

Hi, I just got a new SCX10TR, the battery is charging and I had a couple of quick questions.

1. The antenna wire on the vehicle, do I need to slide that into the antenna mast, is that necessary?

2. The on/off switch, heat sink, dealy was loose in the body, hanging by the wires and the adhesive on the back won't stick any more, any suggestions on how to mount that?

Thanks!

i have the same truck and as far as the antena i just slid the wire through the mast and bent the mast so it laid flat under the body.the only problem is the hole is already there. if you have any kind of double sided foam tape just put it back in place or try and zip tie it out the way.just my 2 cents.

Yep....some more double sided tape or some velcro for the ESC.

You have a few options for the antenna. You can use the stock mount (the antenna tube, just feed it in, helps to try and straighten the wire as much as possible, then feed it in little by little). You can lay tube down as chevy said. you can use something like this...

Basically you wrap the antenna around that piece and double sided foam tape the flat side somewhere.
Or you can always be creative and think of something we have missed!
Personally I just use some of the extra body post holes and feed it in there, tight but not taut, don't want it to break.

and most important of all, DO NOT CUT THE ANTENNA. I used to work at my LHS and the classic rookie mistake... someone would come in and complain that they lost range and 9 times out of 10 it was because they cut what they thought was extra antenna off.

The stock AM radio will work the best with the antenna in the mast, as straight as possible. AM needs the length on the antenna wire and antenna on the radio in order to work properly.
