Default Falken got wet - what got fried?

So my daughter ran her Falken through a deep puddle "by accident" and it died half way through the puddle. When I pulled it out, it would still steer, but nothing from the motor. Now when I power it up the servo engages but doesn't budge to center when I turn on my transmitter.

I'm guessing ESC, but is there a way to be sure before I commit to ordering any replacement parts? I've got a circuit tester, if that will help.

... my first electronics troubleshooting - the stripped gear was pretty straight-forward...

I thought the Falken SCX had the AE-5 ESC and it was supposed to be water proof?

I've had my ae5 submerged, and snow packed several times with no issue. Are you sure the receiver isn't fried? The rx box isn't waterproof, nor is the rx. The servo is also not waterproof.

That would make more sense. Is there an easy way for me to test to see if it's the receiver?

When you turn the switch to on dose the servo work? Or wheels turn or led on rx come on? Can you put your rx in place of it to see if ecs and servo works

The easiest way to test is with a spare rx. If you don't have one, usually the LHS will help you out. Otherwise, try to find someone local on here, and beg/bribe them for 30 mins of help.
