Assuming you're not referring to ESC whine at slow speeds then take off the motor, put something underneath both axles to lift off the wheels ( so that the wheels are off the ground but the suspension is compressed as normal) and then spin the spur gear with your finger. It should rotate pretty easily, with no parts of the full rotation requiring additional force. If it's not smooth then there is something binding in your transmission. If there is, then check the driveshafts and make sure they're not rubbing anything. Disconnect the driveshafts and then turn over the front/rear/center gearboxes separately to see which one is binding. Also, something may be too loose, in which case check for worn gears. |

its none of what u said theres no binding or worn gear and my tranny does get held up when you turn it by hand but thats because of the motor, when i take off the motor i can spin it fine without any binding

How is the condition of your motor? I remember I had a trinity paradox that I didn't take care of and it would sound like hell from the brushes bouncing off the comm and squeel from the unlubed bushing.

ive ran it about 20 tiem tho and went to a gtg with it sunday so ive put it through its passes i think its something in my tranny even tho i loaded it up with grease when i listen to it carefully i can determine the sound of the motor and the sound of the tranny and im pretty sure its coming from the tranny but im not totaly sure |

I have this same problem with my Integy 35t, except mine is louder in reverse than in forward. price one pays for not getting a better motor. Mine isn't broken in yet though, so i am hoping mine will quiet down a bit.

I don't know if it will work on a used motor but the water break-in method has been very good for me. Basically a brand new motor is submerged in water and then run directly from a battery of 4.8 volts or less for a couple of seconds. It instantly 'faces' the brushes to the comm.

It instantly wears the face of the brush ( the end that contacts the comm) to match the commutator.

Its all about breaking in the motor, and faces wouldn't be the correct term. Its called Planting or Camming the brushes. When you break in your motor you are Camming the brushes by creating a wear pattern so you have more contact. What it appears to sound like to me is that you have your Pinion on too tight against the spur., or the spur to pinion combination is not correct. having a smaller pinion gear and a small spur gear combination can create a noise because the gear to stress and make a noise. I have lots of electronics info on my website. Just take a gander and read on. its good info to know. http://www.team3sixrc.com/rcelectronics101.htm |

Glad it's resolved. If it still makes a slight squeek now and again, you may try lubing your driveshafts at the yokes too. | |
