Default Kaetwo's Reign Labs 410 LWB Mule

Well Reign Labs is official and where now building tubers of various forms. Most of you have seen our Brutes, FJ40's, Formula Toys (F-Toys), etc... Now it's time to start the 410 LWB Mules.

Pinch came up with the idea to build a 410 LWB out of the Axial Trail Ranger body and I loved the idea. His inspiration I believe is a 1:1 rig owned by CRSMacgyver. The rig is perfect for a 1.9 (Street Class) scaler so we began building.

Where going to use (of course) an axial SCX10 (this being my 6th SCX10 in a month ), 5/32 rod as 3/16 is just too dang big and terrible looking on these smaller rigs and RC4WD RokLoks.

Here are the inspiration pics.

Sweet LWB Sami's rule! Can't wait to see the build. I'm thinking of building one as my TTC truck.

Well here are some progress shots.

You gotta love the SCX10 chassis for a build platform. It's a piece of cake to braze too and it can be cut, bent and tuned for whatever build your doing. I started this build on Saturday and was able to get it mostly done by Sunday. It's a fairly easy braze up, but the body has some slight variances, and this makes tough to build a symetrical and straight cage, but I think it's 99% there

I'm going for a fairly competative build and wanted the the following in the rig;

Tons of wheelspeed while maintaining a good low speed control
Tons of steering by adding Axial Knuckles and C-Carriers. I may even try CVD's, but we'll see.
Light
Lots of ground clearance
Zero approach
A fair amount of articulation
Scale enough. I'll have an interior, detailed body, spare tires, highlift jack, etc...
Narrow body (6" or less)

For the most part, the Axial Trail Ranger fits the bill and should turnout really well.

PinchFlat has one in the works as well and should have his build up soon.

Enjoy!

This Rig is actually owned by FAB FOURS (www.fabfours.com), I am just the Manufacturing Manager....

We are typically the official bumper sponsor of Ultimate Adventure but they did not need bumpers for the truck last year so we went in Rough Country's (the official suspension mfr) place, since they were not sending a truck. That is where the Rough Country badging comes in(typically not on the truck)

If you guys need any pics or anything to help with the build, just PM me. I will be more than happy to get you anything you need since it sits in our warehouse not too far from my office.

I sent the link to this thread to the owners of the company so I am sure they will be excited to see your progress.

Looking forward to seeing your build!

Andy

I really appreciate the clarification. I really appreciate the offer to send more pictures and will definately take you up on the offer. The rig just has a certain look, that fits a scale build really well.

I hope FAB FOURS enjoys the build thread as well. I'll try not to screw it up too much LOL!!!

I just noticed that Gatekeeper had some better pics up on his thread, so I'll post them up here as well (Gatekeeper I hope that is okay ). They show off the rear of the truck a little better, which means that I may have to re-design my tube work to fit the 1:1 better, but we'll see.

Here it is in it's current state;

I'm not 100% on the body color yet and am open to suggestions.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure yet. I was thinking about it though. I'm not too much into modeling, but I may give it a shot.

I'll be checking the for sale ads in a few months for this one

It looks alittle to blue for me. How would it look in Charcoal

LOL am I that predictable?

Charcoal would be a killer color. I may have to jump on that.
