| Reign Labs Toyota FJ40
Well, it's time for me to make another 2.2 (Trail) rig The last two where cool, but just not me, so I thought I would give an FJ40 a try and I have to admit, it turned out amazing. Then a local UTRCRC member saw it and flashed a bunch of money in my face and I caved again. I saw his built up, and had to do another one. So here goes; It's built once again on an SCX10 frame, cut down into a buggy format. I'm making this big, bad and narly!!! I really wanted something that I could throw on some narly comp tires for Tuff Truck, but still be able to come it in the Trail class. It's without a doubt my favorite so far. I got the idea for the FJ off of the www.proffittscruisers.com site. It's called "Meanie!" Like I said earlier, this is my second FJ based off this rig so the second build turned out even better, and I think the 5/32" rod looks a ton more scale than 3/16". Now onto the build and the inspiration pic. |

I'll post up some pics of the first rig as well, so that you can see the difference between the rod sizes. It's amazing how much better the 5/32" rod looks. I've now got a 20lb. Oxy bottle with a Smith 20lb regulator on the way as I'm going through disposible Oxy tanks like there going out of style. I also bought a Hobart 110 welder to help tack the material in place, to keep things moving. I got it all painted and then decided to ad some more braces for strength in a few key areas. It's now in the garage drying, but I'll get some updated pictures here shortly. How about some more pics? |

My favorite of yours so far. Is Reign Labs taking any orders or does I guy need to just keep an eye on the for sale section? Reason I ask is I would give my left nut for this FJ40 but I am broke for at least a couple weeks. Keep up the great work |

Well she's put back together and I'm loving it!!! I just need to find some CAC wide aluminum hexe inserts for my CAC EZ Lock wheelset and I'm golden. I'll get the electronics installed and work on the panels for it here shortly. More pics to come! |
