| Mike Honcho
There is something I want to get off my chest. It's about that summer, when you went away to community college. I got an offer to do Playgirl Magazine, and I did it. I did a full spread for Playgirl Magazine. I mean spread man, I pulled my butt apart and stuff. I was totally nude. it was weird, I... I mean you probably didn't hear about it because I went under the name of Mike Honcho. But I just wanted you to know that. If you can hear me, if it got into your brain somehow. That I spread my buttcheeks as Mike Honcho. Anyway on with the build! Got my hands on a Axial SCX-10 Honcho a few weeks ago, I looked at all the Honcho builds going on and knew I had to do something different. Out to the shop I went looking around, I noticed I had a bunch of 1.9 scalers, but not a single 2.2. The decision was made, and a quick visit to the RC4WD website and I had some 2.2 Rok Lox in route. For wheels I knew exactly what I'd use, I've had this set of Eritex Rockers sitting on my desk for over a year waiting for a project worthy of them. These wheels are sick! Now ok, that'll make my Honcho different then most, just because of the Huge wheels and tires, but I wanted more. Digging around some more I found a Summit transmission that I had bought for another project, hmmm. I built the chassis, axles, and shocks then decided if it was going to be a 2.2 I needed to stretch the wheelbase out a little. I took some 3/8's delrin and built new rear links 1" longer than stock, then built new front lowers 10mm longer than stock. For the front uppers I used the 20mm spacer that was supposed to go on the rear. While I was at it I also put in the Axial 4 link setup in the rear. I made a mount for the Summit tranny that holds the tranny and it's shift servo, and dropped it in with some emaxx driveshafts. The mount I made required no mods to the SCX-10 kit, so if I ever wanted I could drop the stock tranny right into it's place. A quick blast of paint with my traditional RCC green and silver, add on some of Bowties Taco stickers and some of the new kickass RCC stickers and I was on the rocks! I won't bore you all with pics of the build process, we've all seen how those go, but here is the finished product. |

Dang Jason. That looks like too much fun. I just might have to do that in scaler.
